Fees, format and general framework

Investing in psychological support is also investing in your wellbeing, your relationships and in a more conscious way of holding what you are living through.

Sessions with Javi Mateo are conceived as a professional, warm and effective space aimed at generating real and lasting change.

  • In-person and online sessions have the same fee.
  • The rates are aligned with usual clinical practice.
  • If a case requires a different format, the fee is considered according to duration, type of intervention and number of participants.

Private care and insurance reimbursement

The practice operates as a private health psychology service in Altea, within the professional framework regulated in Spain.

Patients with Spanish and international private medical insurance may be seen through a reimbursement system based on free choice of professional. There are no direct billing agreements with insurers.

  • The patient pays for the session directly An invoice is then issued in accordance with Spanish tax regulations.
  • The invoice is submitted to the insurer The final reimbursed amount depends exclusively on the policy contracted.
  • It is advisable to verify coverage before booking Please confirm reimbursement modality, maximum amount per session, any required clinical documentation and whether the insurer requires an approved provider network.

International patients and cross-border online therapy

Patients with private insurance from Spain, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Nordic countries and other non-EU countries may also be seen.

  • In all cases, the service is governed by Spanish healthcare legislation.
  • Invoices are issued according to Spanish tax regulations.
  • Each patient is responsible for verifying reimbursement validity in their country of origin or under their international policy.
  • For online therapy, the client must check that receiving psychological services from their country of residence does not conflict with local regulations.

Data protection and basic legal framework

If clinical documentation is requested for an insurer, personal and health data will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the applicable Spanish regulations.

  • Clinical information is only shared with the patient’s express written consent.
  • Communication with international insurers may involve international data transfers within the applicable legal framework.
  • The therapeutic relationship is independent from the contractual relationship between the patient and the insurer.
  • Any dispute arising from the provision of services will be governed by Spanish law and, unless mandatory rules state otherwise, by the courts of Alicante.
